SIC Advocate of the Year

SC-SIC awards a new winner of the SIC Advocate of the Year each spring at their annual Riley Award ceremony.

The SIC Advocate of the Year award recognizes exemplary efforts on behalf of School Improvement Councils across South Carolina by individuals actively supporting and promoting the work of SICs within their spheres of influence.

Meet the 2023 SIC Advocate of the Year, Dr. Jacqueline Inabinette.

Dr. Jacqueline H. B. Inabinette was born and raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Following high school graduation from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. She remained in Orangeburg and attended South Carolina State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Dr. Inabinette began her career serving as a middle school teacher.  While teaching, she began her guidance and counseling preparation and earned a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education. In addition, she earned an Educational Specialist Degree and Doctorate Degree in Education Leadership from South Carolina State University. During her educational career, she  has served as a bus driver, middle school teacher, high school guidance counselor, elementary school curriculum coordinator, middle school assistant principal, elementary and middle school principal, and Executive Director of Federal Programs, Student Services, and Accountability for 29 years.  She accepted a position as Assistant Superintendent at Clarendon School District Two in July of 2019 and is serving in her 33rd year as an educator in Clarendon County School District. She strives daily to positively impact student achievement and educator development throughout her community.
